So what is this about anyway?

This is really just a simple, small website to document some of my observations and opinions on the nature of dating in the digital age. Topics will include (but not be limited to) experiences on dating apps, social media and more. Maybe it will be interesting to other people, maybe it will even help people tune their own experiences, expectations and usage of dating apps to improve their chances at achieving the outcomes they desire. What you (the reader) makes of all of this is entirely up to you.

And who are you exactly?

This site is written from the perspective of a heterosexual male in his late 30s. I do however like a certain amount of privacy and respect the privacy of others (which seems to be an increasing rarity these days) so I will not be posting any names unless explicitly given permission to do so. This includes my own name and the names of anyone I might indirectly be referring to anywhere on the site. If it really helps you connect, for the purpose of thinking of me as another living, breathing person, you may call me “Blue” (and yes, you can contact me via Instagram, @bluewolfnexus).

Why write this down?

Really there are a number of reasons for writing this all down.

Taking the step of writing this down rather than just talking about it on various social media platforms actually came out of a large reddit thread which started with the rather simple question, summed up roughly as “Where are the men who want relationships hiding?”. As a heterosexual male who has been actively seeking a relationship for some time, I felt prompted to comment, and so did many hundreds of others as well.

Why should I (the reader) care?

Well you’re here reading the page… Maybe it’s curiosity, boredom, or maybe even some sort of validation or explanation for the questions that many of us wonder about when sitting alone at night. As with so much of the internet, the reasons we have for browsing and consuming content are as wide and varied as our own fingerprints. What you make of my observations and opinions is entirely and wholly up to you. As for caring? Well hopefully this all might help you think of things from a different perspective and reduce some of the negativity in the world by letting us all understand each other a bit better!
